『凡你們所作的,無論是言語或行為,都要奉主耶穌的名,藉著他感謝父 神 』(歌羅西書 3:17) | Last Sunday I preached a sermon title, "the things we should be most thankful." What is the things that we should be most thankful? I think it is the bible. God gave us His word. I briefly survey through the history, we learned that bible did not come easily. Many people sacrifices their lives in order to translated the word of God. Today, through the bible, we can know who God is, and learn the truth, so we can have purpose and direction in live. Yet how may people really know, the the hope of the human race is in the bible? What about Japanese? do they know? I learn that Japanese people are very much like to read. In many countries, physical bookstore are closing business, yet not Japan. However, even though Japanese read so much, they probably never flip a page of the bible. Japan need people to share, to interpret, to preach the bible message to them. In this thanksgiving, as I reflect on God's goodness, I was moved to thank the Lord, because He gave us the opportunity to know Him through the bible. Let us ask the Lord to open the heart of Japanese people and give them more exposure to the bible, and have a desire to study God's word, so they might find the truth, and the truth will set them free. "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3:17 (ESV) |
