Gary ChangI was born in Taiwan. My family immigrated to New Zealand when I was 12. I have lived in NZ for 10 years. My friend invited me to attend Student Life (Campus Crusade for Christ) during my college year. Through CRU, I had the opportunity to go on a short-term mission to Turkey for 2 months. It was during this trip I received God's calling into ministry. After returning, I began discussing it with my parents and praying for several months. God's grace opens a door for me to come to the USA in the year 2000. I began my theological study in Tempe, Arizona. I spend four years at IBC (International Baptist College) studying for my BArt in pastoral study. After I graduated from IBC, I moved to California to attend Talbot School of Theology (Biola University) for my M.Div. God planted a seed of mission in my heart during my final semester. After I graduated, I began to serve as an education Pastor at Mandarin Baptist Church of Pasadena (now Arcadia Chinese Baptist Church) in 2010. Later, God led my family to the Chinese Bible Church of San Diego in 2013. I was privileged to serve as resident pastor for the Temecula campus of CBCSD from 2013 until March/2017.
The seed of the mission has gradually grown. In 2013, I had a chance to attend the Chinese Mission Convention. Once again, God awakened the desire for the mission in my heart and moved my family toward reaching Japan for Christ. With the blessing of CBCSD leadership, we began the application process for the mission in July/2015. After about half a year, we finally received an interview invitation from our mission agency. Our calling was confirmed on May/2016. We officially became one of the missionaries of WorldVenture to Japan. |
Hsin-Hui (Jennifer) ShihI was born in Lu-Gang, Taiwan. My family immigrated to New Zealand when I was 17. By God's grace, one of my friends invited me to go to church at age 18, that is the first time I heard the gospel. I was saved at age 19. I love to work on craft and design, I was major in jewelry design during college. I hope this skill can be useful serving in Japan. I also love children, since I was saved I never stop serving children, in children ministry. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me," (Mark 10:14) I hope Japanese kids can also hear the gospel.
